Citystate Management Group Holdings Pte Ltd (CMGH), a company with heavy commitment in the regional insurance markets, acquired a local insurance broking company in January 1991 so as to reinforce our competitive edge in the growing local insurance broking industry. The company was officially renamed Newstate Associates Private Limited on 14th May 1991, and later to Newstate Stenhouse (S) Private Limited on 10^th March 2000. With an increased paid-up capital of S$750,000.00, Newstate Stenhouse (S) Private Limited is to be the thrust for expansion into the insurance broking industry regionally.

In 1995, we acquired 55% of Stenhouse South China Ltd in Hong Kong. In 1997, we obtained our Insurance Agency License in Malaysia.

In 2000, we acquired 100% of AUA Insurance Brokers Pte Ltd's portfolio in Singapore. In 2001, our paid-up capital of S$750,000.00 was increased to S$950,000.00 in 2001.

In 2001, CMGH acquired 100% of Simco Insurance Brokers Pte Ltd and renamed it Newstate Stenhouse (Simco) Pte Ltd. In 2007, Newstate Stenhouse (Simco) Pte Ltd merged and operates under Newstate Stenhouse (S) Pte Ltd.

In January 2004, CMGH ventured into the Chinese Insurance Market by investing in M/s Continental Insurance Brokers Co. Ltd.

We have also ventured into India in 2007 and commenced operations in August 2008.

For major accounts with sums insured/indemnity limits, exceeding S$100 million, we are able to tap into an extensive network of London and overseas correspondents to place your insurance or reinsurance programme
